Larvik
Urban Soil’ution
Larvik is a town with a great deal of potential, but the omnipresence of cars and the road 303, which runs alongside the railway, are fragmenting its town centre. Our project aims to treat the under-used or poorly used public spaces with three minimally invasive but highly effective strategies:
– Drain the soil to unify and create a strong urban identity, prevent the effects of global warming and encourage the development of biodiversity;
– Re-qualify the streets, roads and car parks that fragment the town by relegating the car to the background and recreating a quality chain of public spaces for pedestrians;
– Establish the new multimedia library in a strategic location so that its appeal benefits the whole town, by revealing its heritage.
